Euroforum raises EUR 13,365 for German Children and Youth Foundation

The conference and seminar provider EUROFORUM Deutschland SE has raised EUR 13,365 for the German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS). The Foundation works in Germany to improve educational opportunities for disadvantaged children. Euroforum promoted its work during an exclusive dinner held for over 250 of its long-standing business partners and customers and was able to gain over 60 sponsors whose generous donations made the large sum possible. The money will go towards DKJS’ initiative “Aller Anfang ist Bildung” (The first step is always education).

“As the leading provider of high-class events on the subject of further education, EUROFORUM feels a particular responsibility to educational opportunities for young people,” said Alfred Möllenbeck, Managing Director of EUROFORUM Deutschland SE, as the cheque was handed over to the DKJS. Mr Möllenbeck, together with the entertainer and singer Barbara Schöneberger, handed over the EUR 13,635 cheque to Dr Heike Kahl, DKJS’ Managing Director.

Möllenbeck added, “One in three children in Germany under the age of 18 grows up facing social or financial difficulties. Their participation in education is comparatively limited. This can’t be ignored, especially not by a company operating within the further education sector.”

As well as their involvement in the “Aller Anfang ist Bildung” initiative, Euroforum is working in partnership with three schools in Düsseldorf to promote further educational opportunities. The focus of these partnerships is job application training for both teachers and students. Additionally, pupils are offered personality evaluations by experienced trainers to help them identify their own strengths. Other initiatives include Euroforum’s employees volunteering at the schools and providing a targeted range of courses dealing with basic economic and financial concepts.
