Routledge title wins Political Book of the Year 2015
Revolt on the Right: Explaining Support for the Radical Right in Britain, published by Routledge, part of Informa’s Taylor & Francis Group, has won the top prize at the Paddy Power Political Book Awards.
Announcing the winner of the Paddy Power Political Book of the Year 2015, judge Lord Ashcroft said, “Revolt on the Right is an insightful book which is scholarly and analytical yet accessible and readable at the same time. It is a superbly timed work that does exactly what it says on the tin, charting the reasons for the rise of UKIP as a political force.”
Published on 14 March 2014 and authored by Robert Ford and Matthew Goodwin, Revolt on the Right: Explaining Support for the Radical Right in Britain, draws on a wealth of new data – from surveys of UK Independence Party (UKIP) voters to extensive interviews with party insiders – to put UKIP's revolt under the microscope and show how many conventional wisdoms about the party and the radical right are wrong. Along the way, the authors provide unprecedented insight into this new revolt, and deliver some crucial messages for those with an interest in the state of British politics, the radical right in Europe and political behaviour more generally.
The Paddy Power Political Book Awards in association with Politicos.co.uk recognises the very best in political writing and publishing.
