Informa and the UN’s SDG

The value of the UN's sustainability development goals

The UN has set 17 interconnected ambitions - called Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs for short - that represent the most significant challenges and knowledge gaps in the world today.

Informa contributes to the UN's SDGs both directly through our operations, and indirectly through the content we create, curate and disseminate and the networks we connect.

We believe our indirect contributions are where we can have the most significant and positive influence on major global challenges, for the benefit of customers, markets, colleagues and society at large.

Furthermore, the Business & Sustainable Development Commission estimates there are business opportunities worth $12tn tied to supporting and delivering the UN's sustainable development goals, making this a compelling growth and engagement strategy too.

The relative importance of the different SDGs to our business

The size of the each segment in the graphic below represents the extent to which we believe our products and services enable our customers to deliver on these goals.

In the way we run our business, our primary contributions to the SDGs are by supporting quality education (SDG 4) and creating partnerships for the goals (SDG 17), with secondary contributions by supporting gender equality (SDG 5), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), industry innovations and infrastructure (SDG 9), responsible consumption and production (SDG 12) and climate action (SDG 13).
