New partnerships for Informa's Monaco Yacht Show

Three iconic players of Port Hercules have signed a new partnership agreement in relation to Informa’s Monaco Yacht Show, confirming the Principality of Monaco as the world capital of yachting.

The new medium‐term partnership is built around a pro-active strategy to boost the Monaco yachting industry, by leveraging the assets and expertise of the three key Monaco-based yachting proponents.

  • The Monaco Harbours Management Company (S.E.P.M.) is the exclusive management company of the ports of Monaco since 2006. Since, the company has always been seeking for excellence to develop the port of Hercules and make it the first Mediterranean destination for mega-yachts.
  • The Yacht Club de Monaco, a renowned international and exclusive institution and a true animator of the Monaco harbour, which with its brand new building will provide better facilities for its 1300 members and yacht owners from June 2014.
  • The Monaco Yacht Show, which has been growing for 23 years and is established as the world leading event in super-yachting.

As a result of this new partnership, the Monaco Yacht Show will be able to host even more superyachts each year, starting with 15 additional berths in 2014, of which three will be for yachts of 90‐120 meters LOA, and a further three berths for 100m+ yachts on the breakwater from 2015. This will help to boost the berthing capacities of the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show by up to 147 slots in total for yachts and tenders.

While these figures are clearly impressive, the partnership goes much further than this, enhancing the reputation of Monaco Yacht Show in every respect, further stretching its competitive advantage on the worldwide stage.

Gaëlle Tallarida, Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Show said: “Peter Rigby, CEO of Informa Group, and I are delighted by this new partnership with S.E.P.M. and the Yacht Club of Monaco. We have been in discussions with Aleco Keusseoglou, President of S.E.P.M., and Bernard d’Alessandri, General Secretary of the YCM for many years about how we can develop yachting in Monaco further, and it became natural and obvious step for the three of us to formally join forces to pursue the same goal. This is significant in highlighting the great importance of Monaco for yachting, as well as that of yachting for Monaco. The high concentration of industry professionals and clients here underlines the potential for the industry to continue to grow in the future and remain a long‐term source of prestige for Monaco. It confirms, beyond doubt, that Monaco remains the international hub for superyachts.”
