Concern for others, in local and global communities, shines from Informa. Employees from all walks of life contribute time, skill and funds to raise money for charities. Peter Rigby, our CEO, has completed the London Triathlon challenge, raising over £50K for charity. This in turn, sparked the 'Run for the Children' initiative from Informa involving thousands of people completing 3km runs nationwide. Some of our people find their own challenges like the UK's Three Peaks Challenge, while others organise company support for the 2004 Tsunami and for Book Aid, which provides books to libraries, hospitals, refugee camps and schools in over 40 countries.
It is our aim to support ongoing charitable work as well as create new ways to support worthy causes. This could be through devising organisational initiatives which work in partnership with other groups or companies for mass benefit, or it could be by supporting employees with their own efforts. Our Community Steering Committee has the commendable task of developing and promoting more ways to help those around us.
