I started with Informa in April 2005.

What was your first role?

My first role was HR Director for Informa Maritime & Transport.

What attracted you to join us?

I wanted to work for an entrepreneurial fast paced company which enables you to have a high degree of autonomy in your role, which values your input and provides career progression.

What is your role now?  

Head Office HR & UK Reward Director.

What was the pathway to getting where you are now?

When I joined the company, I was heading up the HR function for Informa Maritime & Transport.  This included the iconic brands such as Lloyds List and the Lloyds Marine Intelligence Unit.  After2 years in this position, my role was expanded to include the management of all UK employee benefits.  This was a fantastic challenge, which involved benchmarking where we were as an employer on reward and tailoring our employee benefits package to become one of the most competitive in our market.  With this additional responsibility I transferred to set up a new trading division within the business and 12 months later, I moved again into my current position as Head Office HR & UK Reward Director.    

What is the best thing about working here?

You have the real ability to make a successful change to the running of the business.  There are always many multiple innovative projects running at the same time, which constantly keep you engaged, challenged and excited about wanting to come to work each day.  It is fair to say, when you step back and look at what we all achieve collectively; it’s a very successful company to work for.      

How would you sum up the Informa working experience? Or why do you think others would like working in your division?

Due to the fast paced and innovative nature of working within this company, you truly have the opportunity to work across business units and overseas if you wish to do so.  Each day really does bring new challenges and whilst a large amount of your day to day work is deadline driven, you do have a fantastic team around you to support you and achieve these deadlines collectively. 

Can you sum up the people you work with?

Working at informa I have met and worked with many people on a global basis.  Everyone really does support each other to make this a great place to work.
